The Yokohama Bay Bridge and Yokohama Port seen from Rinko Park

The historic port city of Yokohama is a place that many Japanese have been to at least once in their lives. This time we cycled around the Yokohama seaside with Mr. Akiyama, a resident and organizer of cycling tours in Yokohama.
We departed from the front of NISSAN Global Headquarters and walked along with our bicycles in Rinko Park, by the Yokohama Port. Then we kicked it into high gear as we passed by the CUPNOODLES MUSEUM and onwards to the Yokohama Red Brick Warehouse. After checking out the historic warehouse, we headed off to Zou-no-Hana Park. By this time, we had left the seaside area and decided to stop by a place called "mass×mass". mass×mass is a great place for entrepreneurs and startups to get together and conduct business. The reason why we stopped here this time around is to order a delicious bento (a traditional Japanese boxlunch)! With bento in hand, we headed to Zou-no-Hana Park and ate bento sitting on a bench outside, taking in the views of beautiful Yokohama Port. After lunch we took a stroll through Osanbashi Pier, cycled through Yamashita Park, and took a break at the Yokohama Marine Tower. We cycled some more and stopped by the beautiful Nihon Odori Street, where the gingko trees were looking their fall best. We finally cycled back to NISSAN Global Headquarters where we started the tour in the morning.

If you want to see all that Yokohama has to offer I highly suggest cycling around! We thoroughly covered the seaside area of Yokohama in just one day! Feeling the sea breeze against your face as you ride along the Yokohama seaside is really something special. If you don't own a bike in Yokohama, Mr. Akiyama recommends “Baybike”, a great rent-a-cycling service with everything you need to get started on your one-of-a-kind cycling adventure!
